Has anyone here heard the Richard Buckner/ Jon Langford album that was released this year? I wanted to order it online, but am a little hesitant since its only 9 tracks and will end up costing about 20 bucks after shipping.
Also, I was wondering where ya'll were from. A friend and I were just wondering if most alt country/no depression fans were primarily from specific regions in the US. I have a hunch that most of you hail from Texas and the Midwest but I could be wrong... I'm originally from good ole Bakersfield, but have lived on the CA central coast for the past few years.

There are a couple of good bands locally that brush up to the altcountry sound like Joose and Virgil Cane and my little band Pennyjar.
If you are over 21 the Frog and Peach is a good place to see bands and quite often the bar staff will throw some Wilco, Old 97's, Uncle Tupelo or Whiskeytown on the stereo.
The Mother Hips just played Downtown Brewing Company saturday night as well.

Is your band playing around here anytime soon?
